At Pro Vision Lighting, we specialise in OEM HID Xenon replacement globes for factory-fitted HID headlight systems. If your vehicle came standard with HID (High-Intensity Discharge) headlights, our premium D-series globes are designed as direct-fit replacements that match or exceed original equipment performance.
We supply OEM-style HID Xenon globes for popular US, European and Japanese vehicles including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus, Toyota and many more, with fast express shipping anywhere in Australia.
Unlike halogen globes, High Intensity Discharge (HID) globes with xenon gas are high-voltage globes that are powered by a transformer (ballast or headlight control module). 12 V or 24 Volts of power goes out of your vehicle into the ballast, which converts it to high voltage and sends it up the cable to ignite the globe. The globe's tube has electrodes that fire an arc (often referred to as an arc tube), producing a high-intensity light. HID globes come in different types. The universal terms for the most common types are D1S, D2S, D2R, D3S, D4S, D4R, D5S and D8S. Different vehicle models have different part numbers, such as Osram 66340 or Philips 42403, but the universal identifier for these examples is D3S.
Because they match the original HID specification, our OEM replacement globes provide reliable starting, stable light output and correct beam focus in your projector or reflector housing.
Over time, HID headlight globes naturally degrade, losing brightness and changing colour. Common signs that it is time to replace your OEM HID globes include:
Replacing both HID globes at the same time restores balanced colour and maximum night-time visibility, which is why we recommend changing both globes together and keeping any old but still operational ones as spares.
Factory HID systems use specific globe types designated by a number–letter combination such as D1S, D2S, D2R, D3S, D4S, D4R, D5S and D8S. The number tells you the fitting type, and the R or S tells you your headlight type – reflector or projector headlamp.
It's essential to match your HID globes with the same type that came with your vehicle. Check your owner's manual, the markings on your existing globes, or use the OSRAM Bulb Application Guide to confirm whether you need D1S, D2S, D2R, D3S, D4S, D4R, D5S or D8S.
All our OEM HID Xenon globes feature premium-grade UV-Cut Quartz burner tubes, PLANSEE AAA Class electrodes with up to 30% extended lifespan, and advanced fast-start engineering for quicker light-up from cold. Every pair is backed by a comprehensive 3-year warranty and includes express delivery throughout Australia.
With our exclusive Buy 1 Get 1 FREE promotion, you always receive a matched pair of HID globes, ensuring both headlights share the same colour temperature and intensity. Browse the D1S, D2S, D2R, D3S, D4S, D4R, D5S and D8S options above and choose the correct OEM HID Xenon globe type for your vehicle.
Delivery time is typically 1–3 business days Australia-wide. Express dispatch is available from our Sydney warehouse.
The correct globe type is listed in the vehicle owner's manual and is also printed on the base of the existing HID globe. The identification process is explained in the section above.
These HID globes are optimised at 6000k, producing a pure white light that improves contrast and road visibility compared with ageing or lower-temperature HID lamps.
