HID Driving Lights and Spot Lights

Xenon HID driving Lights have been around for quite a while now, but there are a few things you should be aware of before buying cheap products from ebay, as they all look the same but vary drastically in quality.
I will go over some of the main issues you can face when buying Xenon Spot Lights nor Driving Lights, and how we can help you avoid the problems.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR LIGHTS AND CHEAPER EBAY PRODUCTS?

1. Housings.
In China, because it is communist, all the molds for housings are free, thats why everything looks the same, but the materials in them are vastly different. ABS housings are great as they are flexible, light weight, fairly cheap to replace, and can last for years, even on the roughest roads.
BUT.... The factory that makes them has to have high quality chemical engineering to ensure reliability, and most of them don't.
The Pro-Vision range of xenon lights for off-road 4x4 applications are tested on highly corrugated 4WD tracks so they don't shatter and fall apart, snap off mounting brackets, and can deal with a bit of punishing on your off-road adventures.

DO YOU HAVE THEM WITH INTERNAL BALLASTS?

2. Ballasts.
HID Ballasts are the heart and soul of the driving light. Good ballasts mean stable performance over time, and good compatibility with the vehicles electrical system. Cheap ballasts can flicker, burn out bulbs, and not last very long, and can interfere with radios.
All of our ballasts are tried and tested and will last for more than 3500hrs.
The 35w and 55w ballasts are internal, our 70w Pro Fast Start and 100w Ballasts are External and are IP68 water and dust tight so you can mount them anywhere, in or outside the engine bay.
We have tried a lot of internal 100w ballasts and have found them to be either normal 55w ballasts, or ballasts which fail (due to heat) in a very short period of time. Any internal ballasts rated at 75w or 70w that we have seen have been 55w ballasts, so buyer beware.
Beware of merchants selling 120w and 150w ballasts, they are fake, and are only 100w or less.

WHAT ARE THE BRIGHTEST XENON BULBS YOU HAVE?

3. Bulbs.
The 100w hid xenon bulbs are the brightest you can get. Again..beware of fake 120w or 150w bulbs, they don't exist.
The 70w are also a very good alternative as they are driven with our 70w Pro Fast Start ballasts, which are almost instantaneous to full brightness which is handy when switching the lights off for oncoming traffic, and then switching them back on again and not having any delay to full brightness.

WHATS THE BEST COLOUR TEMPERATURE? 6000k, 4300k OR 5000K?

The two best colour temperatures are 6000k cool white, or 4300k warm white.
Clients using 6000k with 100w bulbs and ballasts tell us that roos stop dead in their tracks as they are blinded by the intense white light, so we have found that this can be an advantageous safety feature for 6k bulbs.
Warm white are good for those with sensitive eyes as it can seem to cut some of the glare from large highway signs and in high dust areas or foggy conditions.
Any merchant selling 5000k or 5500k are generally just repackaging 4300k bulbs or 6000k bulbs, so again buyer beware.
It is hard the difference between 4000k-6000k for most punters as they are still in the classification of a white light, 4300k being having a slight yellow in them, 6000k having a slight blue in them. The best way to tell is to get a white piece of paper and put it in front of the light, or have a look at the light from the drivers side and directly onto the road. It is hard to tell when looking directly into the front of the light as the reflectors can create a prism of light and be deceiving.
Note*** anywhere below 4000k or above 6500k you will start to lose light depth.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPOT, PENCIL, FLOOD, WIDE BEAM, EURO BEAM, DRIVING BEAMS, COMBINATION BEAM?

Most driving lights now are either spot or driving lights. Another name for spot is a pencil beam, and another name for a driving beam is a Euro, wide beam, spread, or flood.
Traditional flood, spread, or wide beams indicated a "square" beam, but this is not now applicable to a driving beam or euro beam in a reflector style "Round" driving light.
Some factories use a glass lens to create more of a square flood or wide beam, but most round driving lights with a clear lens use the reflector to create a euro beam/driving beam effect. The driving beam/euro beam gives you a combination of distance and width, and can be said to now supersede the old flood/spread beam in a round driving light formation. Note*** Not to be confused with rectangular driving lights, work lights, and other styles of lights.

ARE YOUR DRIVING LIGHTS WATERPROOF.

All the driving lights are "weatherproof". This means they can withstand high pressure hoses, being submerged through creek crossing, and heavy rain.
All the ballasts and bulbs are IP68, and the connections are waterproof, if water or mist get into the lights, or reflectors through atmospheric pressure changes or high/low altitude driving, they can be easily dried out buy taking the faceplate or back off the lights and switching them on for an hour.
If condensation is left in the reflectors, they can rust, so maintenance can be required in some instances, but generally these lights will last for 5yrs with no trouble at all.

DO YOU HAVE 24V COMPATIBLE LIGHTS? OR ONLY 12V?

The 100w ballasts are suitable for 12v or24 volt applications, any of the others you will have to select 12v or 24v in the drop down box.

DO THEY COME WITH A RELAY HARNESS AND PROTECTIVE COVERS?

All the lights come with a relay harness and rocker switch, you can also get other accessories if needed such as a H4 H/L and HB3/HB4 quick fit kit upon request if needed.
Note*** sometimes standard quick-fit headlight adapters for connecting up to your high beam headlight switch are not compatible with certain vehicle electrical systems, like a negatively switched system, so it is advised that you get your auto electrician to fit them.
The lights also come with clear protective covers, all the mounting brackets, bolts, a 5yr warranty on the ballasts, and everything you need.
