Generally....Ballasts have two different types, Analog, & Digital. And two different sizes, Standard, & Slim.

Slim ballasts are only needed for vehicles where their is very limited room.

An Analog Ballast is ok for vehicles or machinery where the electrical system is very simple, and where it does not matter if it takes a bit of time for the ballast to get to full brightness.

A Digital Ballast is good for vehicles or machinery where the electrical system is complicated, or you need a faster start rate, such as switching to high beam on a vehicle.

The Latest Digital Ballasts can have intergrated Can-Bus & Warning Light Cancellation Technology for late model vehicles.
